An evening boating adventure in search of the area's nocturnal wonders. From rock outcroppings glistening in the night to the sight of nocturnal fauna. Live the quest for bioluminiscence*, a natural phenomenon that makes the water sparkle!

Snorkeling

Marble at the dazzling underwater landscapes of the Gulf of Nicoya. Available during the months of December-April. Spot multi-colored tropical fish, fascinating octopuses and more. Complemented by a fun snack at a nearby island.

 

Kayaking Eco-Expedition

The waters surrounding Isla Chiquita offer a fantastic setting for a singular kayaking adventure. Perfect to connect with the ocean and
gaze at birds in flight. You can also be an Eco-Hero! Just help us remove floating debris and collect mangrove seeds to assist our Mangrove Restoration Program.  *Only double kayaks available

Symbiosis Trail

The Symbiosis Trail brings us closer to the essence of the island. Twelve stations are interspersed along the path, providing resting areas that frame breathtaking views and examples of the unique connections between ourselves and nature. Everyone will find a unique meaning! You can enjoy the trail during your stay (self-guided hiking).

 

Curú Bio Reserve Hike

The first private biological reserve in Costa Rica extends an invitation to embrace adventure. Wild trails lined with tropical wonders set the stage for discovery and surprise. Monkeys, birds, and other exotic species will grant you a strong connection to nature. Hiking difficulty ranges from tame to
intense. Just talk to your guide to choose your preferred pace.

Early Birdwatching

Discover the fascinating collection of land and coastal birds in Isla Chiquita's surroundings on our two-hour expedition that combines hiking and boating. Marvel at endemic species such as the Mangrove Hummingbird and Elegant Trogon, and take a short boat ride to the waters of Isla Pajaros to spot frigates, pelicans, sandpipers, and herons in their natural habitats.

Oyster Experience

Work up an appetite exploring Isla Chiquita's oceanic surroundings by kayak or SUP. Delight in a unique experience as we visit our neighboring oyster farm, situated directly on the water. Discover sustainable aquaculture and sample delicious, fresh oysters from the Gulf of Nicoya.

Sunset Island Cruise

This relaxing sunset experience outlines the contours of nearby islands. We start off at Isla Cedros and the artisanal fishing community in Punta Cuchillo. We then head out to Isla Nancital, home to vivacious Spider Monkeys and Isla Negritos, rich in exuberant flora and fauna. At the end of the expedition, we witness a spectacular sunset framed by Los Caretos islets.
